We are giving a farewell to Madam

We are giving a farewell to Lipipuspa Mohapatra Madam

Dr. Jyotiranjan Gudia’s academic journey is rooted in persistence, curiosity and a deep sense of purpose. Coming from a tribal background, he moved through higher education with a clear commitment to learning and to representing voices that are often unheard. By 2017, when he was pursuing his PG second year in Arts at KISS University, he was already known among peers for his seriousness toward study and his respectful engagement with teachers. Those years shaped his thinking, strengthened his discipline and laid the foundation for the research path he would later follow as a scholar of indigenous society and governance. The photograph captures a formative moment from that period, set in a simple classroom environment that reflects everyday academic life rather than ceremony or display. The setting is modest, but the mood is warm and confident. It shows a group of young postgraduate students standing together with their lecturer, suggesting a culture of approachability and mutual respect. We are giving a farewell to Madam and the moment reflects genuine appreciation rather than formality. The smiles and relaxed body language point to a relationship based on guidance, trust and shared effort in learning.

Studying alongside friends like Laxman Hansdah, Annen Brahma, Pradip Soren, Sajib Mallick, Bishnu Naik, Kharch Mallick and others meant constant exchange of ideas, support during challenges and motivation to move forward. Such peer networks often play a quiet but powerful role in sustaining students from marginalized backgrounds through demanding academic spaces. The presence of their lecturer, Lipipuspa Mohapatra Madam, adds another important layer to the photograph. Teachers at institutions like KISS often serve not only as subject experts but also as mentors and moral supporters. The gesture of presenting flowers during the farewell symbolizes gratitude and acknowledgment of her role in shaping the students’ academic lives. It reflects a learning environment where students feel encouraged to express respect and where educators actively nurture confidence and ambition.
