Dr.
Jyotiranjan Gudia attended six Guest Faculty interviews, including one
conducted by Vikram Dev University, Jeypore, Odisha. After successfully
completing the selection process, he was selected as a Guest Faculty at Modern
Degree College, Chitrakonda, located in his native region of Malkangiri
district, Odisha.
This
achievement marks a proud and memorable milestone in Dr. Gudia’s academic and
professional journey. Having been born and raised in the tribal region of
Malkangiri, he considers it a great privilege to receive his first opportunity
to serve his own community through higher education. Returning to his native
area as a teacher is not only a personal accomplishment but also a meaningful
opportunity to contribute to the educational and social development of the
region.
Dr.
Gudia is scheduled to join Modern Degree College, Chitrakonda, as a Guest
Faculty on 15 July 2026. He looks forward to mentoring students, promoting
academic excellence, encouraging research, and inspiring young people from
rural and tribal backgrounds to pursue higher education and achieve their
dreams.
Dr.
Jyotiranjan Gudia is a researcher, author, and artist from the Didayi community
of Malkangiri district, Odisha. He is recognized as the first person from the
Didayi community to earn a Ph.D., an achievement that has become a source of
pride and inspiration for his community. He completed his Bachelor of Arts,
Master of Arts, M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Kalinga Institute
of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar.
His
doctoral research focused on the traditional political system of the Didayi
tribe and examined how indigenous governance has evolved in response to social,
political, and developmental changes. Through extensive fieldwork, he documented
the customs, leadership institutions, and cultural heritage of the Didayi
people, contributing valuable knowledge to the fields of tribal studies and
political science.
Apart
from his academic research, Dr. Gudia has published several research papers and
book chapters on tribal governance, socio-cultural transformation, indigenous
knowledge, and sustainable development. He is also an accomplished artist whose
portraits and live paintings have received recognition at state and national
levels. His achievements reflect his commitment to preserving tribal culture
while promoting education, research, and social empowerment.
As
he begins his teaching career at Modern Degree College, Chitrakonda, Dr. Gudia
remains committed to creating an inclusive learning environment, guiding
students with dedication, and encouraging them to develop critical thinking,
leadership qualities, and a passion for lifelong learning. His journey from a
remote tribal village to becoming a university scholar and educator stands as an
inspiring example of perseverance, determination, and the transformative power
of education.
