On 15th October 2025, Dr. Jyotiranjan Gudia achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully earning his Doctoral Degree from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. His Ph.D. research, titled “Continuity and Changes of Traditional Political System of the Didayi Tribe in Odisha: A Case Study of Malkangiri District,” explores the deep-rooted governance practices of one of Odisha’s most distinct tribal communities. Dr. Gudia’s work highlights the intersection of tradition and modernity within the Didayi society, emphasizing how indigenous governance structures have adapted in response to external influences. His research contributes valuable insights to the fields of tribal studies, anthropology and political science.
